3FLEX – Final results Dissemination video from 3FLEX project on Vimeo.
3FLEX project will present its final results from April 18th to 21st at NAB 2015 (Futures Park South Hall (Upper) – SU16814), in Las Vegas, USA.
At NAB 2016, 3FLEX will present the depth-enabled workflow and show live demonstrations of the preprocessing, visual effects and rendering plugins on the established post-production platforms mocha and Mamba/Mistika. We will show the extraction and preparation of depth information from different input formats and its use within common postproduction tasks such as compositing, filtering and color grading for sophisticated visual effects. Furthermore, we will demonstrate how different 2D and 3D outputs can be generated from the same input data. We will also present the results of an experimental production which was conducted to evaluate the overall workflow and the individual plugins.
3FLEX would like to invite you to visit us at NAB 2016 for free. Please use the code LV7849 and enter it into your registration package. Register Now FREE! Use the code LV7849 and enter it into the “Exhibits Session 3-Pack” registration package and it will deduct the $150 Fee. It expires this Friday, April 1st so act quickly!

3FLEX conducted an experimental production to test the feasibility of the developed solutions in a real-world scenario. In collaboration with MuVi 3D Multiview Video Production (www.muvi3d.de) and the institute of Media and Imaging Technology of TH Köln (www.th-koeln.de/informations-medien-und-elektrotechnik/institut-fuer-medien–und-phototechnik-imp_14807.php) a shooting was conducted in October 2015 and a short film was produced using the plugins developed by 3FLEX partners.
3FLEX presentation at IBC 2015 has been a big success. From September, 11th to 15th in the RAI center of Amsterdam, 3FLEX booth had around 150 visitors which were very interested in the 3FLEX project and its future outcomes. The visitors included both freelancers and employees from various fields including production and postproduction, broadcast, software development and press. Visitors have provided the Consortium with valuable feedback and impressions, as well as the willingness in testing and evaluating the final plugins.

The paper from imcube Labs about “Line-preserving Hole Filling Using Triangle Meshes” has been accepted for CVMP 2014. The paper proposes an alternative approach to inpainting based hole filling by altering the depth map in such a way that the depth imcubeage based rendering does not produce holes. The work will be presented in an oral presentation during the CVMP conference which takes place from the 13.11.-14.11.2014 in London.
